From budget friendly to the there is no way you’ll get in without a connection, here are some places to check out when you’re stumped as to where to go!

Price Key:

$$$ - $80 -$150
$$$$ - $150 +

Angelini Osteria - $$$
7313 Beverly Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90036
323-297-0070

Angelini offers authentic Italian in an intimate setting. Their expansive wine list and menu make this a safe bet regardless of the occasion! The food is out of this world amazing!!! I highly recommend the lasagna with crispy spinach - I’ve never had anything like it! This is also a great date place! This is dedicated to you J!

Asia de Cuba - $$$$
Mondrian Hotel
8440 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
323-650-8999

Asia de Cuba is an Asian fusion restaurant located in the very sexy Mondrian Hotel. Overlooking the city lights, you can dine outside with huge potted plants creating an “Alice in Wonderland” meets a “Sky Vodka Ad” type vibe. Pricey, but worth it just for the experience of being there. Stop by the Sky Bar afterwards for a nightcap! Dedicated to M!

BOA Steakhouse - $$$$
8462 West Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA
323-650-8383

This is definitely not your stuffy old school steak house. Located in the heart of the Sunset Strip, this is a great place to grab some steaks before you go bar hopping. Reservations are needed on the weekend.

C&O Trattoria - $$
31 Washington Blvd
Marina del Rey, CA 90292
310-823-9491

This is a great place to go with a group! With it’s “honor” jugs of Chianti, hot garlic knots, and sing-a-longs with the waiters, C&O has a fun festive atmosphere! It’s always packed on the weekends, so be prepared to wait outside for a table as they don’t accept reservations (for parties under 8). Waiters bring garlic knots out to you as you wait!

Casablanca Mexican Restaurant - $$
220 Lincoln Blvd
Venice, CA 90291
310-392-5751

Oddly enough, Casablanca is a traditional Mexican restaurant themed after the film “Casablanca”. What I love best about this place is that they serve you piping hot, freshly made tortillas while you wait for you food. You can watch from the dining room as each tortilla is made from scratch! My mouth is watering as I type this!!!

Cobras and Matadors - $$
7615 Beverly Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90036
323-932-6178

Rich kids on a budget looking for a nice night out - this place is for you! Great crowd, fun music, and amazing food are served up at this Argentinean tapas joint! The best thing - they don’t serve alcohol, so they encourage you to bring your own wine and beer! You can stuff your face and get tipsy for literally $20 per person! Make reservations on the weekend!

Comme Ca - $$$
8479 Melrose Ave
West Hollywood, CA 90069
323-782-1104

Comme Ca is definitely one of my favorite places for dinner. A relative new comer to LA (it’s about 2 years old), Comme Ca is a great place to go out with an intimate group of friends. This French brasserie is packed on any given night, with cozy tables, low lighting, and an amazing wine selection. Reservations a coupe days in advance are encouraged.

Foxtail Lounge/Club - $$$
9077 Santa Monica Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90068
310-859-8369

Foxtail is/was definitely one of those clubs of the moment that can be difficult to get into and certainly has that Hollywood type of vibe. As your reading this, I can’t tell you what the current situation at Foxtail is (hot/not, etc). What I can tell you is that I have always had a blast every time I’ve been there! The Absinth shots (will get you WASTED) and eclectic music are what put Foxtail on my list of places to go! Guys - definitely go with hot girls if you are not on the list!

The Ivy - $$$$
113 Robertson Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90028
310-274-8303

The Ivy is the place to go to see celebrities and the place to get photographed by the ever present paparazzi if you are an aspiring star! Strip all that aside and they really do have great food! Soul food classics like meat loaf and southern fried chicken make this one of my favorite places to pig out. The portions are huge - worth the money! Wash them down with a Ivy Gimlet! A shout out to the Rob Clark residents who are lucky enough to be able to walk here!

Katsu-Ya Sushi - $$
11680 Ventura Blvd
Studio City, CA 91604
818-985-6976

Let me preface this by saying that I am a meat and potatoes type of guy, so I don’t know a thing about sushi! There are two other Katsuya’s in Brentwood and Hollywood that are very chic, done by the uber cool SBE Group. The Studio City location is the original Katsuya known for amazing sushi without the glamour (and prices) of the other two restaurants!

Mastro’s Steakhouse - $$$$
246 North Canon Drive
Beverly Hills, CA 90210
310-888-8782

I am obsessed with Mastros’s, what else can I say! The steaks are out of this world and I think I would sell my soul to the devil if I could have a lifetime supply of their gorgonzola Mac and Cheese! Mastro’s is where you go to celebrate your promotion at Endeavor or in my case, the closing of a tough real estate transaction. Regardless of your reason, you must hit up Mastro’s at least once (you’ll be hooked after, I guarantee)!!! Reservations are required!

Mr. Cecil’s California Ribs - $$
12244 West Pico Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90064
310-442-1550

This is the place to go when you are craving baby back ribs, beer, and any other type of comfort food you could ever want. I recently discovered this place and have been in love ever since! An friend of mine who recently moved to LA from the South said that Mr. Cecil’s rivals the ribs that can be found there!

Polo Lounge - $$$$
The Beverly Hills Hotel
9641 Sunset Blvd
Beverly Hills, CA 90210
310-276-2251

The Polo Lounge is an old school Beverly Hills staple that has always been a happening place to go and always will be. Lunch on the patio is the best time to go to have a power meeting or to leisurely people watch, while dinner always attracts an elegant crowd. Regardless of when you go, a meal at Polo is a must for those of you new to LA.

Sky Bar - $$$
Mondrian Hotel
8440 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
323-650-8999

The Sky Bar has been around forever, but regardless is one of my absolute favorite bars in town! White beds and lounges surround a sleek pool overlooking the city lights. DJ’s spin ambient house and trip hop while a typically sexy crowd sips very pricey cocktails. Not necessarily the hot spot it was in the late 90’s, Sky Bar is still a good place to go. Getting in can be hit or miss, so a mixed party of good looking guys and even sexier girls is recommended for weekend nights past 9pm.

The Standard West Hollywood - $$$
8300 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
323-650-9090

The Standard is the place to go on a hot sunny day to lounge by the pool and drink. You can hang by the pool regardless of whether or not you’re a guest! Great music, hot crowd, and amazing watermelon mojitos make this my #1 choice to get your drink on during the day!! Be prepared for a huge tab if you go in a group - it can add up fast!!! Dedicated - D, B, and E

Teddy’s - $$$
Roosevelt Hotel
7000 Hollywood Blvd
Hollywood, CA 90026
323-466-7000

Teddy’s is a dark, cavernous bar located in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Typically a very hot crowd, strong drinks, and strict entrance policy make this a Hollywood favorite. WARNING - This can be a hard place to get into. The door girl could either let you in with a hug or throw a drink in your face while she points you to the exit depending on her mood. It’s best to come here with a regular! This one’s for you C&A!

Tommy’s Burgers -$
5873 Hollywood Blvd
Hollywood, CA 90028
323-467-3792

Last but certainly not least is my favorite gut busting burger joint, Tommy’s! Everything is topped with chili and cheese - what can be better? This is a must for late night drunken munchies!!!
